Greetings WPS Families,
This month, we will hold two important Board of Education meetings that I encourage everyone to watch. On November 11, a special meeting will focus on the infrastructure needs of our campus, providing a comprehensive look at current conditions and future requirements.
The goal of this meeting is for members of the Board of Education to gain a solid understanding of the cost of repairing the exterior envelopes and interior needs of the current campus infrastructure, the different possible approaches for the middle school, and ask questions of Colliers representatives who have worked in this field extensively in CT as project managers/owners reps. Here is the link to the board agenda which includes the Colliers report and the presentation. The public will have a chance to weigh in at a later date.
On November 18, at the Board of Education regular meeting, we will hold our annual enrollment projections presentation, which outlines anticipated student enrollment trends and their implications for planning. Both meetings offer valuable insights into the future of our district, and I encourage everyone to stay informed by watching these sessions. In addition, they will be available for viewing as well.
Following the November meetings, there will be time for the town government and different boards to discuss this undertaking and solicit public input on this topic.
Sincerely,
Lisa Barbiero
Superintendent of Schools
