Kindergarten Registration For 2020-2021

January 2020

Dear Kindergarten Parent/Guardian,

We would like to welcome your child to the class of 2033! We are looking forward to partnering with you as you begin your journey with the Weston Public Schools.

Although it seems early for kindergarten registration, the information we collect through this process will help us to confirm the enrollment projections and to begin planning for the next school year. There will be two opportunities for you to drop off completed kindergarten registration packets on Wednesday, February 5. 2020. The first between 1 :30 and 2:30pm, in Hurlbutt Elementary School's South House cafeteria, or between 6:00 and 7:00pm in the Hurlbutt Main Office. If you are unable to submit your registration packet at either of these times, please contact Laurie Eagle at 221-6300. In the event school is closed due to snow, the make-up date will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Please bring a photo ID with you to present to security when you arrive.

A completed registration packet includes the following requirements:
 -
Completed and printed Infosnap forms from the Hurlbutt website. The link to the Hurlbutt "New Student Registration" is https://www.westonps.org/page.cfm?p=4l9. Copy/paste the link into your internet browser for instructions to begin the registration process, and click on the blue link for the 20/2 I school year.

- Proof of Residency
                --Warranty, deed AND
--Utility bill - telephone, gas or electric

- Copy of your child's birth certificate

- Completed blue State of Connecticut Health Assessment Record (Connecticut Stat Law forbids any child from beginning school without updated health records and immunizations.)  This form must be completed by your doctor and on file in the nurse's office before your child starts school.  This record should be up-to-date through the five-year-old checkup, unless your child turns five after school begins.  If this is the case, the Health Assessment Record should be complete through the four-year-old checkup and updated ASAP after your child turns five.  Keep a copy for your records.

An informational meeting will be held on Thursday. April 9. 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30am. This will give you the opportunity to meet the administration and to learn more about our kindergarten program. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family into the Weston Schools.
